I’m sharing details of our custom-recipe dessert catering at Botanica Gardens in Oceanside. This August we were onsite to set three unique dessert tables plus wedding cake for our beautiful wedding couples.
It’s fun to share the visuals and look back in a busy wedding season. (The weekends of late-summer and early fall go by so quickly, one week feels like three have passed!) These images and notes also help our potential clients consider specific quantities and how they may be presented.
Crisp & Clear
Sunday, August 6
Menu:
- 6″ two-layer wedding cake
- Cannoli
- mini Lemon bars
- mini Oreo cheesecakes
- mini Churro cupcakes
- mini Carrot-Spice cupcakes
- mini Espresso Chip cupcakes
- mini Oreo Blondie bars
- small-bake salted Chocolate Chip cookies

Set on one farm table: 264 servings of desserts, not including cake. 278 dessert servings in total, including cake slices.
Cake included layers of Churro and Vanilla Velvet Cheesecake with fresh raspberry buttercream filling, sealed in white chocolate ganache, finished in vanilla buttercream frosting in a smooth+rib technique. Their corgi figurine was provided in advance and I decorated the cake to make it look like it took a bite. Flowers were provided and set aside for me by the florist, and I decorated the cake onsite.

Cake included layers of Peaches & Cream, Lavender Honey and Blueberries & Cream with fillings in fresh peach and blueberry buttercream frostings, sealed in white chocolate ganache and covered in vanilla buttercream with a mostly smooth, with some slight texture. Flowers were provided and set aside for me by the florist, and I decorated the cake onsite.

Cake included layers of Classic Churro and Vanilla Chai Spice, with fillings of cinnamon-spice and vanilla bean buttercream frostings, sealed in white chocolate ganache, covered in vanilla buttercream with a classic rib technique.
