Fine-tuning the details for Julieann and Cole’s wedding day at Botanica the Venue in Oceanside was a joy. Our team gave love, personal care, and attention as wedding vendors via florist work from Glorified Hobby, and custom dessert catering via Mili’s Sweets.
Professional photos taken for this post were created and provided by Shelby Paige Photography. Product imagery was captured by me, Mili.
The Bride
In October, Julieann and I started talking about floral aesthetics for her dream Spring wedding, in colors of white, pastel terracotta, muted peach, pops of blush, and greenery. The backdrop is Botanica – the ultra garden venue filled with trees and majestic greenery.
First Look
Honing-in on the boutonnière and bridal bouquet perfection with these special moments before guests arrive. They were ready!
Ceremony
The backdrop to the ceremony space is a jaw-dropping erratic boulder-waterfall pouring into a lush pond, framed by trees.
The couple opted for no arch. We created and placed arrangements with venue-baskets for the end-cap to the aisle. These pieces would be repurposed at their sweetheart table.
Wedding Party
Florals for the wedding party included traditionally wrapped hand-bouquets, loose flower petals, and boutonnières.
Not captured in photographs, our bud bases for the outdoor space and bar in cocktail hour. In total, Karen and her assistant set over 100 bud vases for the ceremony, cocktail hour, sweetheart table, and 18 reception tables.
Reception
Table top details for the reception were selected from the candle and hurricane glass decorating options we offer for flat-rate rental. The couple chose 12″ hurricane shades for pillar candles, plus 5″ cylinder candles.

Sweetheart Table
I wanted to capture the top of their sweetheart table with photos in natural light. During cocktail hour, this space would be completely framed to the floor with additional bud bases and the basket-lanterns from the ceremony.
Father-Daughter
It is impossible for me to not gravitate to the precious moments of first-look with dad, and their dance. (I vividly remember my dad and I within them.) Shelby and her photographer-team beautifully captured this day! Here you can also take a peek of their sweetheart table in the night-light.
Dessert Catering
Julieann and Cole were able to take advantage of our once-monthly “choose your tasting packages” for curbside pick-up, after our initial contact in October for their April wedding.
During our consultation-time, I talked about using the gorgeous furniture piece on display to the side of the bar within the Botanica reception tent, instead of a farm table on the side. They trusted my instinct. I was so happy and excited to set and fill this space with their menu onto our pedestals and risers.
Their wedding Cake was a 6″ three layer, custom recipe Chocolate-Espresso & Cream, made both gluten free and dairy free, in a mostly-smooth with slight texture frosting, and our florals placed onsite.
My assistant and I made a made a game-day decision about the cake placement during set-up. I thought it would be best to separate the wedding cake from the dessert spread. We worked with the venue’s wonderful onsite coordinator Morgan, who brought over a small table for us to place in front of the dessert station. It was a perfect height for the cake cutting ceremony and photos, and easy to move out of the way for when guests were encouraged to enjoy dessert at their leisure.

Cake Cutting Ceremony
Congratulations Mrs. and Mr. Wysocki! This is a classic and favorite-fun moment of the night (especially for me).
These two are wonderful. I was literally overwhelmed by their generosity that I could share with our team.
When we were onsite for teardown at the end of the night, Julieann found me. We hugged and talked. She was so happy with how Karen and I helped to bring her wedding day together. She said our work was “beyond her dreams,” that her sweetheart table was the most beautiful she’d ever seen, and the guests absolutely loved our desserts. It was a special personal moment.
I thanked her for trusting us to take good care of her. With so much time and love invested in this work, it means a lot.
