With Apple Pie Frittelle, I made my Italian-American recipe-dream come true. Thought of as fry bread or rustic donuts, I make it easy, with overnight/no-knead dough, a little sugar and spice, and apple pie filling for an American twist, and the best of both worlds. This dessert is fun, absolutely delicious, and even though I’ve enjoyed frittelle my whole life, it is unique to most. I hope you enjoy this take on my roots, and this special food we make when celebrating at home.
Nonna’s legendary apple pie filling and glaze
Nonna’s legendary apple pie filling and glaze is here for the world to enjoy! Since the 1970s, my mom has been the master who perfected this recipe, wanting to make something special and very American to celebrate me – her babygirl who was born just hours before our nation’s Bicentennial. Born and raised in Italy, she figured, ‘what could be more good and American, then a homemade apple pie?!’ To be loved so much and to be linked to this amazing woman and her food is a gift.

Matcha cheesecake and Spring florals
Matcha cheesecake and spring florals are how I helped celebrate my daughter’s 17th birthday. Beyond adding pure Matcha green tea powder for gorgeous natural flavor and color, a slight change to my typical recipe created an incredible mousse-like texture, to completely elevate cheesecake for an unforgettable result. There is no turning back – adding tofu is the key.
everything braided bread
Let’s make a braided bread, with the same no-knead dough, and my tried and true baking method using a dutch oven. With a few small adjustments to the original recipe, you can have a lightly crisped outside and layers of super soft, pull apart bread on the inside. If you like, add a seeded or everything bagel mixture to the top. I show you how to make this beautiful thing happen.
Braciole With Sauce
Braciole with sauce is an authentic Italian dish that I’ve enjoyed on special Sundays my entire life. I’m sharing my personal recipe to make this flavorful beef rolled into individual roasts, and cooked in a simmering tomato sauce.
my favorite: cranberry-orange scones
Cranberry-orange is my all-time favorite holiday flavor combination. For years, cranberry orange scones have been one of my family’s Christmas-morning traditions. These tender, flavorful dessert-biscuits, are made with a slight outside buttery-crispness, and bright fruit flavors. Here I share with you my favorite classic scone recipe, and the ingredient switch-outs to make them gluten free and/or vegan.
easy set icing or glaze
Set icing or glaze tastes like a dream on top of scones, muffins, cakes, cookies, and pancakes. (I can go on and on.) This is a favorite way to slightly sweeten, and make a treat more delicious and lovely. This simple staple will set and firm to a soft-stiffness, so there is no smudging or mess when stacking.
cranberry orange pancakes
This morning, everyone besides the dogs and I slept-in, and cranberry-orange pancakes was the special breakfast I wanted to make for my sweethearts that were still all-snug in their beds. Orange Pancakes are topped with cranberry sauce, and a generous drizzling of orange-zest icing.
florals and cake, December 2020
Cameron and Josh had a beautiful and pandemic-appropriate December wedding in 2020, that made for a special memory for me as well. It would be my final order for the year of delivering desserts as Mili’s Sweets, and it would be the very first wedding arrangements I would ever be hired to create via my small business as Glorified Hobby.

Mili’s best pork ribs
When I make my best pork ribs, it makes for a special occasion at home. My method makes for the tastiest, most tender ribs that you can enjoy any time of year. If you love ribs, and you love cooking at home, this is a skill you will want to keep. Prep is easily done either from a stock pot or pressure cooker, and finished either on the barbecue grill, or in the oven – whatever you feel like working with.
