It was sunset on Friday, when Jackie and Chris celebrated their wedding at Cape Rey, in Carlsbad. Mili’s Sweets was chosen to set and cater their custom cake and desserts, and I debuted some of the acrylic pieces we added to our options, to create a crisp and beautiful display for our dessert tables.
First the cake. They shared a 6″, three layer cutting-cake, custom made with layers of Carrot Cake, Vanilla Velvet, and a marbled carrot-vanilla cake, sealed in white chocolate ganache, filled and covered in vanilla buttercream with a partial-rib at the base.
Their custom, acrylic cake topper was pre-ordered and provided in advance, along with floral clippings from their florist – Wildflower Design Studio, of Encinitas.
Jackie had a vision for custom-made, all white themed desserts, and we were happy to make it all happen for her
The menu included vanilla Cheesecakes without our typical fresh-berry garnish, mini Cream Puffs made with Choux pastry, filled with whipped cream, White Chocolate Chip Cookies that were half-dipped in white chocolate, Vanilla Italia cupcakes with vanilla buttercream and mini white sugar pearls, and custom Millionaire Bars, made with layers of shortbread, dulce de leche, and white chocolate.
I was able to snap a few quick photos after set up. I love how it all turned out! The weather was beautiful and watching part of the sunset was a bonus-treat for me.
I did get to see the bride and groom on my way into set up. They were walking to the venue from taking beach photos. It was so sweet! Then I saw Jackie in the hallway before they were introduced as Mrs. and Mr. Cambell, and I can’t even tell you how stunning and happy she was! It felt so nice to be able to see her in that moment, and to congratulate her. I do hope to get to see the professional photos from Everyday Forever Weddings. If I do get better photos, I’ll update this post at a later date.
